Automatic feeding system
The Farmer Automatic chain feeding system is worldwide in operation. The V-link feed chain running in the feed trough outside the cage is extremely effective, easy to handle and reliable since more than 30 years. The long-lasting, wear resistant chain distributes the feed evenly.

Automatic drinking system
Farmer Automatic Layer Cages come with two options of nipple drinkers:

a) 2 nipple pipes per deck, the nipple drinkers and drip cups are placed in the partition walls of the cages. All hens have access to 2 nipples.

b) 1 nipple pipe per deck located in the centre of the layer battery. A V-trough under the nipple pipe collects splash water and prevents wet manure. All hens have access to 2 nipples.

Automatic egg collection
The "Egg Saver System“ in front of the cage is another product of Farmer Automatic’s creativity. This system stops the eggs just before reaching the egg collecting belt. In this way these eggs will not hit hard on others already on the belt. The "Egg-Saver-Wire“ will release the egg automatically, controlled by a timer switch. (1 air compressor per house for the pneumatic control has to be provided locally)

This system, for which Farmer Automatic has a registered patent, practically eliminates hair cracks in eggs.

Automatic egg collection on a 100 mm wide PVC belt which runs in a separate egg trough in front of the cage takes the eggs along the battery line to the egg elevator or egg lift. Before reaching the elevator or lift the soft-shelled eggs (wind-eggs) and broken eggs are sorted out automatically. They fall into a special tray which is easily cleaned after egg collection.

Proven technology
Farmer Automatic Layer Batteries have gear driven manure belt drives which allow switching individual decks off. For all partition walls, feed troughs, stands, and connecting profiles high quality galvanized steel sheets are used for easier cleaning and disinfecting.
